Judge Dismisses Reinsurance Associations' Suit Against AIG

MINNEAPOLIS - A Minnesota federal judge on March 31 dismissed a lawsuit that accuses certain American International Group Inc. insurers of fraudulently understating the workers' compensation premiums they received in order to reduce their reinsurance premiums. Workers' Compensation Reinsurance Association v. American International Group Inc., No. 07-3371. (D. Minn.).

Judge Joan N. Ericksen of the District of Minnesota ruled that the plaintiffs, Workers' Compensation Reinsurance Association and Minnesota Workers' Compensation Insurers Association Inc., failed to meet the pleading requirements under the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act.
