MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee jury awarded $1.05 million to a woman whose husband died of cancer allegedly caused by exposure to asbestos on the job. Anderson v. Combustion Engineering, Inc., No. 99-CV-003308 (Wis. Cir. Ct., Milwaukee Cty.).

On Nov. 27, the jury found Combustion Engineering, the only remaining defendant in the case, partially responsible for the death of Jerold Anderson.

Combustion, which has since become part of a conglomerate, supplied boiler insulation that contained asbestos to Anderson's long-time employer.

The other 10 defendants first named in the suit were either dropped from the case or reached undisclosed financial settlements before …
