PHILADELPHIA –– A Pennsylvania state court has denied a motion for reconsideration filed by benzene plaintiffs, standing by its original decision that the court did not have jurisdiction over Genuine Parts Co., Safety-Kleen Systems Inc., and Univar USA Inc.

The Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County denied the motion for reconsideration in a one-page order issued Aug. 27.

In asserting the claims, the plaintiffs said that Harold Pennington, an Oregon resident, was injured as a result of using the benzene-containing Liquid Wrench product during the course of his employment with a number of stores, including a Sears Roebuck …
