CHICAGO - An Illinois federal judge has dismissed Accutane related claims against Hoffman-La Roche Inc. for lack of personal jurisdiction, finding the plaintiff failed to allege how his prescription of the acne drug or his medical treatment had any connection to the state.
In a March 7 order, Judge Marvin Aspen of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said the plaintiff's allegation that Roche "marketed, distributed and sold" Accutane to doctors throughout the United States, including Illinois, does not alone subject Roche to jurisdiction in Illinois
