4th Cir. Upholds $18.5 Million Verdict in Boston Scientific Obtryx Transvaginal Mesh Cases

CHARLESTON, W. Va. - A federal appeals court has upheld an $18.5 million verdict in a Boston Scientific Obtryx Midurethral Sling transvaginal mesh device case, finding the evidence supported the jury's finding that company negligently designed the device and failed to provide adequate warnings.

On Feb. 6, the 4th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals also rejected BSC's argument that consolidation of the cases rendered the trial unfair and found the District Court's evidentiary rulings were not improper.
