ATLANTA — A Georgia federal judge has denied as moot an SGA Re shareholder’s motion to intervene in Canal Insurance Co.’s lawsuit against Golden Isles Reinsurance Co., explaining that Canal has indicated that it will drop its claims against the shareholder in a related lawsuit.

In a Nov. 21 order, Judge Leigh Martin May of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia also granted defendants’ motion to extend the discovery period and expert report deadlines, and their request for a status conference, “to follow up on existing issues.”
