Wis. Federal Judge Orders Mediation of Symmetry Femoral Neck Action

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Upon request of the parties, a Wisconsin federal magistrate judge has ordered mediation of an action involving an allegedly defective femoral neck component manufactured by Symmetry Medical Inc.

On July 10, Magistrate Judge William E. Duffin of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin ordered the parties to appear before Magistrate Judge Aaron E. Goodstein for the mediation.

Beginning in 2006, Symmetry Medical Inc., a contract manufacturer of medical devices, manufactured femoral neck components pursuant to detailed product specifications provided by Portland Orthopedics Limited for Portland’s M-Cor Modular Hip System.
