PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania intermediate court has upheld an award of summary judgment to Pfizer Inc. in a Zoloft birth defect action, finding the testimony of the plaintiffs’ causation expert was properly excluded because his methodology was not generally accepted in the scientific community.

On May 8, the Pennsylvania Superior Court agreed with the trial court that Dr. Robert Cabrera’s expert report contained several methodological flaws.
