HARTFORD, Conn. –– A Connecticut federal court has awarded summary judgment to Foster Wheeler in an asbestos case, concluding that the possibility of exposure to asbestos in the defendant’s products was not enough to create a genuine issue of material fact.

In the same March 31 order, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut declined to issue similar awards for defendants Crane Co. and CBS.

Plaintiff Paul Paquin asserted the underlying asbestos-related claims, contending that he came into contact with the defendant’s allegedly harmful products while serving aboard U.S. Naval vessels.
