CAMDEN, N.J. — A New Jersey has dismissed for lack of jurisdiction a $1.5 million lawsuit accusing a bank of breaching a mortgage agreement by failing to place force-placed flood insurance policy on a beachfront property before Superstorm Sandy hit.
On Feb. 21, Judge Noel Hillman of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey explained that the case does not belong in federal court because the claims are grounded in state law. As such, the judge dismissed the action without prejudice.
