N.J. Court Orders Completion of Limited Jurisdictional Discovery in Asbestos Case

NEWARK, N.J. –– A New Jersey federal court has denied a motion to dismiss filed by two asbestos defendants, saying that it could not weigh in on the defense efforts without the completion of limited jurisdictional discovery.

In the Jan. 9 order, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey opined that the limited discovery must be focused on the existence of ties to New Jersey that would justify the exercise of personal jurisdiction.
