Ga. Supreme Court Denies CertainTeed, Plaintiff Motions to Reconsider Recent Decision in Take-Home Asbestos Exposure Case

ATLANTA –– The Georgia Supreme Court has denied motions to consider filed by CertainTeed Corp. and plaintiffs in an asbestos case, standing by a recent ruling in which the high court closed the door on certain take-home exposure claims, but left plaintiffs the option of bringing causes of action relating to whether the defendant’s pipes, as designed, were defective under the risk-utility analysis.

In separate one-page orders issued Dec. 8, the state high court stated that all justices concurred with the decision to deny CertainTeed and the plaintiffs' motions for reconsideration.
