Calif. Court Stays Talcum Powder Action Pending Determination of Coordination Petition

LOS ANGELES –– A California trial court has stayed proceedings in two talcum powder lawsuits pending determination of a coordination petition filed with the state’s Chair of the Judicial Council.

In the June 29 order, the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County signed off on an order that would “allow for more efficient management of the Included Actions.” All of the parties in the two cases stipulated to the stay.

The order was entered in a case filed by Adele Trent in Los Angeles County and in the Jara action, currently pending in San Bernardino County.
