New Lawsuit Accuses Multaq Makers of Hiding Risks of Severe Cardiovascular, Liver Injuries

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Five individuals have accused the makers of Multaq of failing to adequately warn patients and healthcare providers of the risks of severe cardiovascular and liver injuries posed by the anti-arrhythmic drug.

In a Jan. 25 complaint filed against Sanofi-Aventis U.S. LLC and Aventis Pharmaceuticals Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, plaintiffs further assert that the drug was defectively designed and unreasonably dangerous.

Plaintiffs Ruth Hardin, Michael Clay and Eric Biggs all allege that they suffered serious drug-induced liver injuries and/or heart failure and other cardiovascular problems due to their ingestion …
