Judge Grants Paxil Manufacturer's Motion for Reconsideration of Order Granting Preliminary Injunction

LOS ANGELES - GlaxoSmithKline, the manufacturer of Paxil, may continue to run television advertisements that claim the antidepressant is 'non-habit forming,' following a federal judge's decision to grant the company's Motion for Reconsideration of Order Granting Preliminary Injunction. In re: Paxil Litigation, No. 01-07937 (C.D. Calif.).
U.S. District Judge Mariana Pfaelzer's Oct. 10 minute order stated that the ruling was based on the arguments and paperwork presented by all parties, including the FDA, which submitted a Statement of Interest on Sept. 5 in support of the manufacturer.
