SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A lawsuit has been filed in California state court against the makers of the cholesterol-lowering drug Baycol, contending that the companies were aware of, but concealed, the dangers associated with taking the drug. Madruga v. Bayer Corp., et al., No. CV-02043 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Luis Obispo Cty.).
The March 14 complaint alleges causes under strict products liability, breach of express and implied warranties, negligence, business code violations and fraud, as well as a medical negligence cause against defendant Dr. Garry R. Kolb.
