Sources: Motion to Dissolve Texas MDL Defense Committee on Hold

HOUSTON - Plaintiffs have relaxed their efforts to have the defense steering committee in the Texas silica MDL dissolved after they called the group a "hydra, drunk with perceived power" and accused it of operating as its own defendant in the litigation. In Re: Texas State Silica Products Liability Litigation, No. 2004-70000 (Texas Dist. Ct., Harris Cty.).

Sources told HarrisMartin, that the motion was passed prior to a recent status conference in Harris County District Court, where the steering committee was established more than three years ago to coordinate filings for more than 150 defendants in the state MDL.
