Court: Pulmosan Ties to Texas Sufficient for Specific Jurisdiction

HOUSTON - Pulmosan Safety Equipment Corp. failed to show that it has insufficient contacts with Texas that would have prevented jurisdiction over the defendant for claims asserted by a former Texas sandblaster, a state appeals court has ruled. Pulmosan Safety Equipment Corp. v. Lamb, No. 14-08-00279-CV (Texas 14th Ct. App.).
Affirming a trial court decision that Pulmosan's contacts satisfied the purposeful availment prong of Texas's jurisdictional test, the Fourteenth Court of Appeals said Dec. 9 the defendant's potential liability for injuries suffered by William Lamb arises from its contacts with the state.
