CLEVELAND - Plaintiffs and manufacturing defendants preparing for the next bellwether trial in the federal welding fumes MDL have moved to exclude or limit testimony by medical and scientific experts, in some cases citing rulings in previous welding trials. Byers v. Lincoln Electric Co., et al., No. 1:04-CV-17033 [MDL No. 1535; No. 1:03-CV-17000] (N.D. Ohio).

Plaintiff Eddie Byers filed two motions to exclude defense experts on Sept. 17, including physicians Robert Brent Furbee, M.D., and Gordon Sze, M.D., while defendants filed similar motions to exclude testimony by Byers' pulmonologist, A. Lynn Ridgeway, M.D., and other experts.
