Missouri Sandblaster, Pulmosan Settle Silica Claim on Day of Trial

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Pulmosan and a sandblaster who claimed he was injuriously exposed to silica while wearing the company's protective hood have reached a settlement just as the case was expected to be tried in Missouri, sources told HarrisMartin Publishing. Hardy v. American Optical, et al., No. 0516-CV27381 (Mo. Cir. Ct., Jackson Cty.).
George Hardy dismissed his case against Pulmosan Aug. 11, according to a source in Jackson County Circuit Court, where trial was set to begin the same day. Details of the agreement were not disclosed.
