PORT GIBSON, Miss. - A Mississippi judge is expected to hear a motion next month requesting a trial date for a case that recently ended in a mistrial after it was discovered that two jurors had links to unrelated silica and asbestos cases. Westrope v. Pangborn, et al., No. 2007-38 (Miss. Cir. Ct., Claiborne Cty.).
Plaintiffs filed their motion on June 9 with Claiborne County Circuit Court Judge Lamar Pickard, urging him to set a new trial of plaintiff James Westrope's claims at the "earliest possible date convenient for the Court." The motion is scheduled to be heard on July …
