  • Motion

NEW ORLEANS - Two of the remaining plaintiffs expected to bring their welding fume cases to trial in the near future have asked a Louisiana judge for a stay until February while general causation issues are thrashed out in the federal multi-district litigation. Barras, et al. v. A.O. Smith Corp., et al., No. 2004-873 (La. Civ. Dist. Ct., Orleans Parish).

Counsel who submitted the motion note that it applies only to David Barras and Frank Sanchez, two plaintiffs in the Barras case, and not to plaintiffs in a companion welding fumes case, Andre v. A.O. Smith (No. 2003-11573).
