OAKLAND, Calif. - The judge overseeing California's coordinated welding fumes docket has proposed a trial schedule that would allow for sequential trials or multi-plaintiff trials beginning in September. Welding Product Cases, Judicial Council Coordination Proceeding No. 4368 (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).
In proposing the new schedule at a Feb. 8 case management conference, Superior Court Judge Bonnie Sabraw said she was inclined to dispense with the scheduling concept announced in August, which would have scheduled the first few individual trials approximately 14 weeks apart, and decrease the time between trials after the first few trials.
