Pangborn, IHC Pay $53,750 to Settle Calif. Silica Claims

LOS ANGELES - Less than one month after arguing that the sophisticated user doctrine barred a silica lawsuit filed by several former foundry workers, defendant Pangborn Corp. has agreed to settle the claims. Beltran v. J.R. Simplot Co., et al., No. BC356257 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).
According to an application for determination of good faith settlement filed March 6 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Pangborn and Industrial Holdings Corp. will pay $53,750 to settle the claims of seven of the eight plaintiff who filed the complaint.
