3M Touts Trial Record, Says Calif. Case is Absolute 'No Liability'




OAKLAND, Calif. - Causation will be the biggest hurdle a California lung cancer plaintiff faces in his upcoming trial against defendants responsible for allegedly exposing him to asbestos and silica, respirator defendant 3M says in a statement filed Oct. 22. McClarty v. Lone Star Industries Inc., et al., No. RG05-210545 (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).

According to 3M, none of the defendants named in plaintiff Eugene McClarty's Alameda County Superior Court lawsuit made the product responsible for McClarty's adenocarcinoma, which the defendants say was caused by cigarettes.
