Court Schedules Trials for 2008; Thermadyne Seeks Summary Judgment

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The California court overseeing the state's coordinated welding fume docket has outlined the plaintiffs scheduled for trial in 2008 and has announced the dates for pretrial hearings in the state's first welding fume trial. In re: Welding Product Cases, No. JCCP 004368 (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).

In an Aug. 28 order, the Alameda Superior Court outlines the trial schedule and notes which side has picked the trial plaintiff.

According to the order, the King case (plaintiff selection) will proceed on Nov. 19; Soto (plaintiff selection) on March 31, 2008; Gutierrez-Rojo (defense selection) on June 16, …
