Default Judgment Opened in Quarry Worker's Silica Suit

SCRANTON, Pa. - A default judgment in a silica suit filed by a former quarry worker in Pennsylvania has been opened less than a year after it was entered against a stone company that failed to answer the complaint. Forba v. Glenwood Stone Co. Inc., No. 05-CV-3499 (Pa. Comm. Pls., Lackawanna Cty.).
Court papers filed in July in the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas indicate that Plaintiff Richard Forba entered into a stipulation to open the default judgment against Glenwood Stone Co., one of five defendants Forba sued for causing his silica-related injury.
