OAKLAND, Calif. -- The California judge overseeing the state's coordinated welding fume docket has denied a defense motion seeking to re-open testimony about the plaintiff's past drug use. In re: Welding Product Cases, No. JCCP 004368 (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).
In an Aug. 10 notice, Judge Bonnie Sabraw of the California Superior Court for Alameda County denied defense efforts to depose plaintiff Val King, who is scheduled on Nov. 19 to be the first plaintiff to proceed to trial in the state.
