OAKLAND, Calif. -- A California judge overseeing the state's coordinated welding fume docket has granted a motion to compel a second neurological exam of the plaintiff scheduled to be the first case to proceed to trial in the state. In re: Welding Products Cases, JCCP No. 004368 (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).; King, et al. v. BOC Financial Corp., et al., No. 04-429012 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).
The June 8 order by the Alameda Superior Court limited the exam to assessing the progression of plaintiff Val King's alleged manganism, which the plaintiff contends is progressing.
