Large Group of New Single-Plaintiff Silica Cases Filed in Oklahoma

PRYOR, Okla. - More than two dozen new silica cases have been filed in Oklahoma state court by plaintiffs who were once severed from a 138-plaintiff case after a judge determined they were improperly joined.
The lawsuits were filed Jan. 30 in Mayes County District Court by approximately 52 plaintiffs who claimed they were exposed to silica dust at the Grede Foundry in Pryor, Okla., and at various other locations throughout the state. The plaintiffs include 26 former foundry workers and their spouses.
