Silica Defendant Asks Court to Transfer Case to Its Home County

OAKLAND, Calif. - A defendant named in a silica lawsuit has moved to transfer the case to its county of residence after the plaintiff's initial disclosures revealed that his alleged silica exposure didn't occur in the county where he filed his complaint. Casasus v. A-1 Aggregates, et al., No. RG05214053 (Calif. Sup. Ct., Alameda Cty.).
In a venue motion filed March 2, Chevron Inc. contends that Jose Cesena Casasus not only alleges that he was exposed to silica somewhere other than Alameda County, where is complaint is not pending, but that he also resides in San Diego.
