CHICAGO - A Tennessee man has filed a lawsuit in Illinois, claiming that he was injured when the amorphous silica-containing gel product with which he was working 'transformed' into respirable crystalline dust. Rogers v. Dow Chemical Co., et al., No. 06-4734 (N.D. Ill.).
The complaint, filed Aug. 30 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleges that Robert Rogers developed silicosis as a result of his dust exposure and that the three companies named as defendants in the suit were aware that such an injury could result from working with amorphous silica gel.
