Special Master Recommends Denial of Latest Segarra Motion

PASCAGOULA, Miss. - The special master in the Mississippi state silica litigation has recommended that a judge deny the latest motion for a protective order filed by plaintiffs' expert Jay Segarra, who has been ordered to disclose thousands of X-ray records of plaintiffs he evaluated for silica- and asbestos-related injuries. Fairley v. Pulmosan Safety Equipment Co., et al., No. CI-2004-001-SI (Miss. Cir. Ct., Jackson Cty.).

Special Master X.M. Frascogna issued the order Sept. 11, along with guidelines for how the defendants will be permitted to review the documents, which Frascogna ordered Segarra to produce earlier this year.
