CLEVELAND - The plaintiffs in the Welding Fume MDL are seeking sanctions against the defendants, claiming that they have failed to comply with a court order instructing them to produce documents and data related to the Danish and Swedish epidemiological studies, which found no association between welding and Parkinson's disease (PD). In re: Welding Fume Products Liability Litigation. MDL No. 1535. Case No. 1:03-cv-17000 (N.D. Ohio).

In their Aug. 7 response to the defendants' submission regarding Judge Kathleen M. O'Malley's June 26 order, the plaintiffs say there is a "direct relationship" between the defendants' alleged misconduct and the requested sanctions. …
