Post-IARC Classification Analysis Finds Agreement

Researchers have analyzed nearly a decade of studies assessing the relative risk of lung cancer in workers exposed to silica and determined that the findings are consistent with prior data indicating that cancer rates are higher among workers with silicosis.
The data, which was published recently in a pre-publication issue of The Annals of Oncology, comes at a time when sources tell HarrisMartin Publishing that the scientific community may be reconsidering its decade-old decision to classify inhaled crystalline silica as a Group 1 carcinogen.
