Defendants: Silica Plaintiffs' New Reports No Better Than Old Ones

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Defendants have moved to dismiss several Florida silica cases after plaintiffs re-submitted reports they say comply with a recent statute that set minimum medical criteria and other requirements for pursuing asbestos and silica claims. In objections and motions to dismiss filed July 10, defendants took issue with various aspects of the newly filed reports, arguing in each that the new reports were rendered by a doctor affiliated with the same screening practice that generated earlier reports.
