Juries Enter Defense Verdicts in Illinois and Texas

CLEVELAND -- With juries in both Texas and Illinois exonerating welding manufacturers of liability, plaintiffs in a third trial have rested their case, sources told HarrisMartin.
The consolidated trial of former Duke Power employees was expected to last another two weeks, sources added. MDL Judge Kathleen M. O'Malley of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio is overseeing the trial.
On Nov. 15, an Illinois jury delivered a defense verdict after less than one day of deliberations. Hours later, a Texas jury followed suit, finding for defendants after just three hours of delibeartions.
