CLEVELAND -- In a jointly filed stipulated order, plaintiffs and defendants have asked MDL Judge Kathleen M. O'Malley to extend her recent split remand order to an additional 38 welding rod lawsuits. In re: Welding Rod Products Liability Litigation, Docket No. 1535 (N.D. Ohio).

Filed July 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the stipulated order contends that 23 lawsuits still pending in the welding rod products liability MDL should be remanded because they contain the same jurisdictional issues as 46 Mississippi complaints remanded in a May 21 order.
