YORK, S.C. - A South Carolina judge has signed an order striking from the docket all but three of the approximately 200 silica personal injury cases that were consolidated before him nearly two years ago. In Re: South Carolina Silica Cases, No. 2005-CP-46-2133 (S.C. Comm. Pls., York Cty.).
The agreed order was entered April 3 by York County Court of Common Pleas Judge John C. Hayes III. Judge Hayes was assigned to oversee a statewide South Carolina silica docket in July 2004, when four silica cases had been filed in Chester County.
