LOS ANGELES - A plaintiff in California has moved for $4,800 in sanctions against a hood manufacturer for its alleged refusal to comply with discovery requests prior to a scheduled deposition of the company's custodian of records. Mahar v. 3M Co., et al., No. BC328229 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

The motion, filed Feb. 13 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, contends that defendant Mine Safety Appliances Inc. has failed to produce the vast majority of documents requested by plaintiff Rick Mahar and has otherwise objected to Mahar's requests for production, calling them 'overbroad' and 'burdensome.'
