PAULDING, Miss. - A plaintiff in a Mississippi silica case has moved to disqualify a law firm representing defendants in the case, citing an alleged ethical conflict involving the defense firm's paralegal, who at one time worked for plaintiffs' counsel. Barnett v. Pulmosan Safety Equipment Corp., et al., No. 14-0010 (Miss. Cir. Ct., Jasper Cty.).
According to a motion plaintiff Wallace Barnett filed last month in Jasper County Circuit Court, paralegal Audrey Sumrall was given a job at the law firm of Page, Mannino, Peresich & McDermott after working for Barnett's attorney for nearly two years.
