HOUSTON - The judge overseeing the Texas silica MDL has heard argument on whether plaintiffs can pursue their silicosis claims against Pulmosan Safety Equipment Corp., which contends it is immune from such suits because the company dissolved nearly 20 years ago. In Re: Texas State Silica Products Liability Litigation, No. 2004-70000 (Texas Dist. Ct., Harris Cty.).
On Dec. 12, Harris County District Court Judge Tracy Christopher continued the matter for further discovery, after Pulmosan argued that the court does not have jurisdiction over the claims against the dissolved corporation.
