Texas Counsel Disqualified from Majority of California Silica Cases

OAKLAND, Calif. - A Texas plaintiffs' attorney has been disqualified from appearing as counsel pro hac vice in numerous silica cases filed recently in California state court. Brown, et al. v. Lone Star Industries Inc., et al., No. RG-05-210447 (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).
According to a ruling notice issued Nov. 9, Guy Fisher of the Beaumont, Texas, law firm Provost Umphrey will be permitted to appear pro hac vice in just five of the 34 cases for which he sought admission.
