EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - A silica case filed in Madison County has been transferred to a nearby venue in Illinois after defendants argued that the case had very little to do with the county in which it was initially filed. Edwards v. 3M Co., et al., No. 03 L 1888 (Ill. Cir. Ct., Madison Cty.).
According to an agreed-to order entered Sept. 23 by Madison County Circuit Court Judge Nicholas Byron, the claims of plaintiff Richard Edwards have been transferred to Macon County, where Edwards currently resides and where the majority of his alleged exposure occurred.
