California Silicosis, Lupus Case Settles for $1.07 Million

LOS ANGELES - A 55-year-old former foundry worker who claimed he developed silicosis and lupus as a result of his exposure to silica will receive more than $1 million from numerous defendants he named in his state court suit in California, sources told HarrisMartin Publishing. Ogan v. Union Pacific Railroad, et al., No. BC293705 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).
According to sources, the last defendant agreed to settle the case just days before the Los Angeles County Superior Court was set to hear summary judgment motions defendants had filed based on lack medical causation, sophisticated user and bulk supplier …
