Defendants Seek Additional Stay of Silica MDL Remand Order

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Defendants have asked MDL Judge Janis Graham Jack to extend the effective date of her decision to remand thousands of silica claims to state court in Mississippi. In Re: Silica Products Liability Litigation, MDL Docket No. 1553 (S.D. Texas).

In their July 27 motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the defendants request that the remand order be stayed at least an additional 30 days so that the Mississippi Supreme Court can consider two motions that are related to the cases and currently pending before the court.
