New Study Links Manganese Fumes, Neurological Injury

A study published in the June 28 issue of Neurology highlights brain and nervous system syndromes related to exposure to manganese welding fumes.
The study's effects have already been felt in the welding fume litigation, as an Illinois court issued leave recently for plaintiffs to do additional discovery pertaining to the study. See related story in this issue.
The case series analysis was performed at the Mayo Clinic and examined medical records from eight patients for various nervous system complaints, according to a press release issued by the Mayo Clinic.
