EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- The judge overseeing what was the next welding rod lawsuit scheduled for trial granted an unopposed plaintiffs' challenge to a panel of jurors during voir dire, sources told HarrisMartin Publishing. Boren, et al. v. A.O. Smith Corp., et al., No. 00-L-886 (Ill. 3rd Jud. Cir. Ct., Madison Cty.).
Sources also indicated that the parties have been issued leave to do additional discovery on the recent Mayo Clinic study published in the July 28 issue of Neurology, in which syndromes associated with manganese fume exposure were pinpointed. See related story in this issue.
