JACKSON, Miss. - Plaintiffs have filed a brief in the Mississippi Supreme Court confessing the issues raised in the consolidated appeal of a trial court's decision denying a motion to sever multi-plaintiff silica suits. 3M Company, et al. v. Glass, et al., No. 2003-M-00617 (Miss. Sup. Ct.).
In an brief filed March 21, numerous former sandblasters who allege they developed silicosis as a result of their occupational exposure to silica assert that the issues raised by appellant 3M Co. are now moot because the Supreme Court recently addressed an identical issue in a similar occupational exposure case.
