Philadelphia Court Issues CMO on Expert Witness Discovery

PHILADELPHIA - The judge overseeing the Philadelphia silica docket has issued an order governing expert witness discovery, which is expected to get underway in June. In Re: Silica Litigation, No. 030300001 (Pa. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).

In a Case Management Order entered April 8, Judge Norman Ackerman of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas gave plaintiffs until June 15 to serve general and case-specific expert reports on defendants or face possible sanctions. Defendants have at least 90 days before the start of trial to designate their experts.
